Autechre “Oversteps,” Deluxe Vinyl Edition

Autechre Oversteps

Last month, British duo Autechre released their 10th album, Oversteps on longtime home Warp records. Longtime visual collaborator(s) The Designers Republic was once again tapped for the artwork. After the unfortunate news of the Republic having closed its doors as a “studio” in 2009, it’s fantastic to see founder Ian Anderson again throwing out compelling work.

Like Oversteps itself, the art & packaging is more focused than we’re used to seeing/hearing from Autechre and company, especially in comparison to Alex Rutterford’s more (appropriately) scattered art for recent releases Ganz Graf, Untitled and Draft 7.30.

The deluxe edition contains two 180-gram LPs, each in its own printed inner and outer card sleeves, and a 36″ by 24″ double-sided poster on Offenbach ultra-fine stock, folded into a third printed sleeve. The sleeves are then housed in a thick, printed slipcase.
